pengaruh latihan otot tungkai terhadap kemampuan tendangan jarak jauh pada pemain ssb garuda junior u-17 pekanbaru
This study aimed to examine the effect of leg muscle training on long-distance kicking ability in Garuda Junior Soccer School (SSB) U-17 Pekanbaru players. The research employed an experimental method with a pretest-posttest control group design. The sample consisted of 20 players divided into two groups: the experimental group (10 players) who underwent a five-week leg muscle training program with a frequency of three sessions per week, and the control group (10 players) who continued with their regular training routine. The instruments used were a long-distance kick test and a leg dynamometer to measure leg muscle strength. Data were analyzed using Paired Sample T-Test and Independent Sample T-Test at a 0.05 significance level. The results revealed a significant difference between pretest and posttest scores in the experimental group, as well as a significant difference between the experimental and control groups, with a significance value of < 0.05. These findings indicate that leg muscle training positively influences the improvement of long-distance kicking ability. Based on these results, it is recommended that soccer coaches integrate structured leg muscle training, both weight training and plyometric exercises, into regular practice programs to enhance players’ long-distance kicking performance effectively and sustainably.
